Week 5 Information

 Good afternoon parents,  I hope you all had a lovely weekend and managed to get out in the fresh air to enjoy the last few non rainy days! It was great to see some of the wonderful Year Two Mum's (and Dad's) down at Dunsborough Centre point selling raffle tickets to help support the fantastic Year Two wood fundraiser. Incursion Reschedule Unfortunately, the Cultural excursions/incursions (building our Mia Mia at OLC) for this term have been cancelled due to a family illness. Week 4 already...

I cant believe we are already going into Week 4 and have already had a busy 3 weeks of Term 2 with your beautiful children. We have been learning so much and have wanted to share it all with you.  Our Learning πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ€—πŸ₯° In Maths, we have spent the last few weeks learning all about skip counting in 2's, 3's, 5's and 10's. We learnt how to identify the rule in a pattern and continue a pattern from any given number, even numbers past 100 🀩 We are now beginning to put our mathematician brains to the test and learn all about telling time. This can be a tricky concept, but we are determined to get there πŸ•€ Check out some of our amazing work in the snaps below. In InitiaLit, we have been learning all about what an imaginative text is. We know that an imaginative text is a made up story that sometimes can teach us lessons about life. A few reminders for the week...

Good morning parents,  I hope you have had a lovely start to your week and didn't get caught up in the Perth traffic or lock down down here! I was one of the unfortunate ones up in Perth on the 18th visiting my family.  Just a few reminders for the remainder of this week... Assembly Just a reminder that our assembly is this Friday commencing at 2.15pm. If your child would like to bring along a bright coloured shirt in their bag to wear for our assembly, they are more than welcome to, otherwise, their faction shirt will be fine. If your child has a reading, we would love it if you could practise it with them over the next few nights. We are looking forward to sharing our prayer assembly with you! Week 2 Information

Good afternoon parents, We had a great first week of Term 2 and have alrea dy learnt so much. It was lovely to hear of the many adventures you all seemed to get up to on the holidays.  I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend and get to spend some time in the sunshine.  Just a few reminders for Week 2... Friendology - URStrong 🧸 This is the wonderful friendship and social emotional program that we will be starting this term to support the children in helping them make better friends and strengthen and foster healthy relationships. Within the program the children may be starting to use the language of UR Strong: Friendology including: 'Friendship fire', 'Talk it out', 'Quick comebacks' and the 'Friend-o-cycle'. We will be providing some information to parents on the blog as we complete the lessons of the program. Welcome to Term 2!

 Welcome to Term 2! I hope you all had a lovely holidays relaxing and taking in that last bit of Autumn sunshine. I was lucky enough to travel to Denmark and Albany and even woke up at 2am to go climb Bluff Knoll for the sunrise, celebrated my Dad's birthday and spent time catching up with all my friends and family. I am looking forward to a jam packed 11 week term with your children. Welcome to the Last Week of Term 1

 Who can believe it is already the end of Term 1. I hope you all had a relaxing weekend and got to enjoy some sunshine.  I had a beautiful lunch at Fishbone celebrating Miss Horrocks birthday, I walked away full of delicious food and felt very grateful that we had a proper celebration as last year, poor Miss Horrocks was in lockdown! Just a few reminders for the last few days... Thank you A very big THANK YOU  to all those parents that have attended (and will be attending) parent interviews. I have loved meeting with all of you and telling you about your child's learning so far this term. Good evening parents, We hope you had a lovely weekend and got to enjoy some of that glorious sunshine 😎 Just a few reminders for the week ahead... Parent Teacher Interviews Parent teacher intervie ws commence this week. Thank you to those of you that have already made a booking...if you're having any dramas, please let me know. It seems to work on a laptop but not so well on a phone or tablet. This meeting is designed to give you a brief overview of how your child is progressing with a focus on literacy and numeracy. We will also discuss your child's work habits and just generally how they are travelling. I am very excited to tell you about all the learning we have packed into seven weeks! As we are on time constaints, each meeting will run for 15 minutes. We have been asked to keep a timer handy to ensure the time of each meeting is fair and equitable with each parent. Please excuse me using a timer when we begin our interview as it is more for myself to make sure I keep on
